Description

Lucrarea prezinta o viziune personala asupra designului ingineresc pentru constructia de masini. Se au in vedere mai mult motoarele termice. Sunt tratate pe scurt istoricul, clasificarea si utilizarile. Se prezinta mai amanuntit unele tipuri de motoare termice cu ardere interna, deoarece acestea ne-au marcat existenta in ultii 150 ani. O mai mare importanta o au motoarele termice cu ardere interna de tip Otto, sau Diesel, motoarele in doi timpi, cele rotative, cat si motoarele termice cu ardere externa, in special cele cu aburi (de tip Watt), sau motoarele din gama Stirling care functioneaza pe baza diferentei de temperatura dintre doua surse. Dezvoltarea si diversificarea autovehiculelor rutiere si a vehiculelor, mai ales cea a automobilelor, impreuna cu motoarele termice, in special cele cu ardere interna (fiind mai compacte, mai robuste, mai independente, mai fiabile, mai puternice, mai dinamice, etc...), a fortat si dezvoltarea intr-un ritm mai alert a dispozitivelor, mecanismelor, si ansamblurilor componente. Cele mai studiate fiind trenurile de putere si cel al transmisiei. Problema randamentului foarte scazut, a noxelor mari si a consumului foarte mare de putere si de combustibil, a fost mult ameliorata si reglementata in ultimii 20-30 ani, prin dezvoltarea si introducerea unor mecanisme motoare si de distributie moderne, care pe langa randamente mai ridicate (ce aduc imediat o mare economie de combustibili) realizeaza si o functionare optima, fara zgomote, fara vibratii, cu noxe mult diminuate, in conditiile in care turatia motorului maxima posibila a crescut de la 5000-6000 la circa 30000 [rot/min]. O performanta deosebita o reprezinta cresterea in continuare a randamentului mecanic al mecanismului motor principal si cel al sistemelor de distributie, pana la cote nebanuite pana in prezent, fapt ce va aduce o economie de combustibili majora. Astazi toate motoarele cu ardere interna (dar si cele cu ardere externa care mai sunt utilizate) functioneaza in general la standarde ridicate, cu consumuri mici de combustibili, cu nivele scazute de vibratii si zgomote, cu emisii de noxe extrem de reduse, comform reglementarilor actuale care sunt si ele din ce in ce mai pretentioase. Rezervele de petrol si cele energetice actuale ale omenirii sunt limitate. Pana la implementarea de noi surse energetice (care sa preia controlul real in locul combustibililor fosilici) o sursa alternativa reala de energie si de combustibili este chiar „scaderea consumului de combustibil al unui autovehicul", fie ca vom arde petrol, gaze si derivati petrolieri, fie ca vom implementa intr-o prima faza biocombustibilii (lucru ce s-a si realizat in unele tari, cum ar fi Brazilia, USA, Germania, etc), iar mai tarziu si hidrogenul (extras din apa).
